Jack Lalane is in his mid-nineties, but according to experts in the field of fitness, he has the body of a man in his late thirties to early forties. Jack was one of the original (if not THE original) fitness gurus. He was the inventor of the Smith Machine, and was one of the first to have a television show geared towards fitness. I still remember my mother in 1960 working out to Jack's show! The man has always been an inspiration to me, and if he can still be active in the field in his nineties...so can we, brothers and sisters, so can we!
My other inspiration is Sly Stallone. I know a lot of people really don't care much for him because of his admitted use of certain steroids. But after reading his book, "Sly Moves" which presents a very good, common sense approach to fitness, diet, and health, yep, I'm impressed. And it was Sly's book, and the recent release of Rocky Balboa that finally helped me make the plunge into fitness as a profession.
