Home in a Traditional Style

Decorating styles are the way one can beautify the room and create a mood in the environment. The decorating style can be chosen depending on ones likes and dislikes.

A traditional style of decorating is comforting and classic. It is generally calm, orderly and predictable. It doesnt give room for chaotic and or anything wild. The furnishings used are generally classical and may look outdated. Consistent and matching pieces can be used. In this style, pieces that are of a different style or out of place are not used. Accessories and furniture are centered in the room and are placed in pairs. Modern, eclectic pieces of furniture are seldom used in this style. Furniture pieces are generally reproductions and give a casual feeling.

Traditional style makes a person from any age group feel comfortable. Modern art or stainless steel furniture looks out of place in this style. The upholstered furniture in this style exhibits classic lines and understated details. It is generally restful, unfussy and functional. Soft and smooth edges are seen that blend into the whole. A mix of vertical lines with more restful horizontal lines is used in a traditional room. Furniture, pillows and accessories have a gentle curve. Too shiny or too textured fabrics are generally not used in a traditional room. Colors used are often in a mid-range of tones, though very dark or very light colors are sometimes used. The furniture is generally arranged on a straight axis within the room. Classic styling can be exhibited by light fixtures. Shades used can be plain and in ivory or white.

Every person dreams of owning a house and decorating it in his own style. With every upcoming flat in Kerala builders are providing more and more facilities and luxuries for an easy life.
