Does anyone have this cert? The gym I'm planning on going to (yeah, I'm going to take the plunge. In this economy. Making half my current salary. Gulp), will only take trainers with NASM so I've ordered the materials for the test. The gym owner said that NASM makes ACE look like child's play.
He's right ACE is a joke compared to NASM. Don't sweat it though the hard part is just remembering there "patented" system. It is really just common sense stuff like any other cert. The Bachelors of Science that I am working on includes the NASM cert as one of my 8 week sessions. I found the school that I am going to on the NASM site under their higher learning tab...CALU. It has been a great program so far..above and beyond what I expected. last week we covered T cells and how they work in the lymph and immune system.
Anyway you know your anatomy so you are fine..it is just that NASM will take you to another level as far as kinesiology goes other that that its like anything else ...JUST DO IT!!! lol
Why go to a gym to work I though you had a few clients?

Thanks so much! I think I'm going to enjoy it. I thought about a gym because I don't have the heart to charge people what I need to to make a living...especially not in this economy. I really have to see what the economy does before I make the final decision.
Well, I'm studying for NASM and so far I don't see much difference between it and ACE...in fact, so far, this one seems easier (their text and materials are much better). It may seem easier because I know 98.9% of it from ACE, though. I hear the exam is MUCH more difficult, however.
Really? thats cool! what about the OPT system? The NASM cert is one of my classes next winter for my degree...thats reassuring that I might have an easy semester :)
On another note there is very little that is different between the major certs..but it does help with confidence when you know that your knowledge is sound.
