BOSU, VERY COOL!

Hi everyone,

Just bought a BOSU trainer (which I didn't know stands for 'Both Sides Up").

I tried it out w/ the DVD that came w/ it. Douglas Brooks and his wife Candice (and another instructor) are featured in it. Douglas just explains stuff but Candice is the main instructor.

I did all the segments and it was really interesting. It was pretty challenging at the very beginning but I found I started to adapt to it pretty quickly. The way the program is sequenced on the DVD does a great job at starting off very simple before you have to move on.

Now, I still had my clumsy moments, quite a few of them in fact, but overall I was suprised at how well I did for the first time.

By the time I am physically ready to start training folks (may 2 or 3 weeks) I should be rocking that thing!biggrin.gif

Take care,

Scott

I'm starting a client on the BOSU this month!  We'll have to compare notes.

Hi Nora,

I can't wait to start training folks!

I think the BOSU is going to be a great thing to use for them. I'd start them on a more stable surface at first but when I felt they were ready I'd start them w/ simple bosu exercises just to get them acclimated.

I'm getting closer to being able to train both physically and regarding getting all my business stuff.

I still need to get my insurance which I'll probably do thru the company ACE is affiliated with (that came w/ my certification materials). I got my cell phone for the business yesterday, still want to buy a step. The nice steps are expensive, but the less expensive ones seem really small and I'm concerned about someone who is inexperienced w/ exercise getting hurt w/ a smaller surface.

I'm hopefully going to have my ad out in November in a local parents magazine (I'm planning on a 6 month ad to start). my website should be up pretty soon also. Just got a haircut today to do the website pics, should have my ace apparel tomorrow (got a nice ACE tank top to use for exercise pics, and a nice polo shirt w/ a collar to use for other pics and for training, they should be in the package along w/ my first CEC course).

My web address (it's still in the "Under construction phase now") is www.time4youfitness.com) though only the first two pages are there.

I look forward to hearing about how you use the BOSU. I definitely think I'll do a CEC course on that which Douglas Brooks offers.

Best wishes,

Scott

Thanks Nora,

I was trying to think of how to type in a whinny! biggrin.gifgiggle.gif

There's still a lot to do but I'm getting closer every day. I'm very impatient though, after a year of studying and the delay w/ the surgery, I'm just ready to get to work with this and start helping clients get fit!smile.gif

Oh, BTW, I checked my tracking number and I should have that ACE stuff today! Maybe Lori can take those pics for me tomorrow morning if things aren't too crazy (we've got construction going on in my house so it's a bit nuts around here!juggle.giflaughing.gif)

Take care,

Scott

lol yeah I didn't know what BOSU waw both sides up either till I bought one hahahaha. I haven't been using it much lately but there is a lot to do on it. On a side not the Airex pad is slightly easier than the BOSU so it can be used as the progression to it.

Shawn,

Thanks for mentioning the Airex pad, I'm not familiar w/ it. I'll have to keep an eye out for that!

Take care,

Scott

Well, I thought I'd have gotten my ACE shirts yesterday, but I didn't realize (totally my fault) that the shirts take 3-4 weeks to get because they get them made as you order them (that is the logos are put on). I did get my dvd though for my first CEC course and I started taking notes on that. It's very good and it has lots of useful info from what I've seen already. I'm just going to do like 30 minutes a day watching and taking notes and then I'll take the quiz when I'm ready.

Anyway, I won't get to do my pics yet, unless I decide to just do them in one of my other tank tops (but those ACE shirts
would be REALLY cool for the pics!biggrin.gif)

Take care,

Scott
