I have an ACE personal Training Manual 2nd edition.
The current one is the 3rd edition. Does anyone know if their is any major differences in these manuals. Thanks
Hi Betsy,
I went thru the same thought process.
I originally had the 2nd edition (got it really cheap at amazon marketplace) so I could see if this was something I wanted to pursue before buying the newer materials.
Once I decided to pursue it, I then got the new materials and I do believe it was worth it. To me there are enough differences between them overall that I feel it could make a difference. Also, the packages that include the home study guide and master the manual etc. really help the studying process. Also, I found the musculoskeletal anatomy book/CD-ROM and the DVD to be VERY helpful.
The way I looked at it was that even at the price of the premier package, it was a relatively small amount to spend for something that could turn into a career (even if it's a second/part-time career).
What I did was think about the cost of the ACE materials with the amount I'd have to spend if I was to take a single college course (plus the materials for that one course) and it really put things into perspective.
Of course you still have to pay for the exam and stuff, but overall it's not a lot of money for a career that you can enjoy and which can pay pretty decently depending on how you pursue it (I'm planning on working for myself, which is what I also do right now as a private music teacher).
I don't know if that's helpful or not but I wanted to share my perspective. :)
