I finally got my ACE shirts yesterday so we did my exercise and a new main pic for the website. We also have a pic with all the equipt. I'll be using for in-home training, one is a pic of just the gear and one w/ me and the gear plus the exercise pics.
If you go to www.time4youfitness.com and click on the "why train at home" link it's all there :)
Scott, it's a beautiful site, great pic of you!! I've got it bookmarked. Are you getting hits on the site yet?
Hi Nora,
Thanks for checking out the site and for your kind words, I appreciate it greatly! :)
I've not gotten any clients from the site yet but the AD I have coming out soon has the link and hopefully that will lead to folks checking it out and hopefully calling or emailing. :)
I've been putting business cards all over, introducing myself to the local massage studios, tanning places, anywhere that might attract folks who might be interested in what I'm doing.
The parent magazine is hopefully going to make a big difference, I've used it in the past for teaching and it's always been very successful for me. There's only one other fitness oriented business in there right now (a Pilates studio) and they've been advertising there for years so I'm assuming it's been worth the advertising cost or they wouldn't still be doing it. :)
I don't know if you got to see the page w/ the exercise pics, but I am going to delete one of the Powerbase and one of the BOSU pics that I'm not as happy with. It'll actually make it look cleaner though which I think will be much more attractive! I like the way the pics of the equipment came out.
You can click on those pics and they get bigger. One of the BOSU pics has to be resized though, it's wayyyy too big when it's clicked on but I need my wife to do it (I don't know how to work w/ the web site editing :)).
Just wanted to mention that the exercise/equipt. pics page is all cleaned up (got rid of a couple pics I wasn't as happy with) and now all the pics show up normal size now when clicked on :).
looks pretty good...but I think that on your about me page your picture should be at the top. You are the subject and should be placed first. This is how most profile type pages are done.

You know, it's odd...I haven't had to look for clients...I bet you won't have a difficult time, either! Usually, you just mention you're a personal trainer (I er...'casually' mention it to just about everyone!) and almost always the next words out of their mouths are: "I've got to talk to you."

Thanks Nora,
I am definitely having to spread the word here (and have my AD coming out in November which I hope will reach out to folks who I wouldn't otherwise have contact with) but I'm sure it's due to my interactions being somewhat limited within my teaching practice and folks I run into from my kids schools/teams etc. I work from home so I'm not in a context where I may run into a large variety of people.
I do have someone who is a friend (and whose son I teach piano to) starting two days a week in December and I'm hoping my AD comes out soon w/ the Parent Magazine which has always worked well for me in the past. As of yesterday they still had the Oct edition on the stands but in the next few days the new one should be out.
I have also placed business cards in local places like tanning salons, massage studios and a smoothie king but I'm trying to think of other places. Ultimately I'm sure that "word of mouth" will be the ultimate thing as it is for my teaching along w/ the AD (that particular magazine has been so successful for me w/ teaching in the past).
I'm hoping this awful economy doesn't have too much of a negative impact (there's many many very affluent folks around here who I would imagine would still be okay financially for this sort of thing) but it's hard to know. Hopefully the economy will improve post election for this whole country's sake!
Take care of yourself and thanks for checking out my my website :)
