Hello from GA!

Thanks  Tekva for getting this discussion board going!  I look forward to gaining so much from all of ya'll!

Just a little about myself...I just just celebrated my 21st anniversary with a wonderful man, have 1 stepdaughter who just made me a "Gammy", and 2 wonderful boys, 18 and 17!

Was just reading about Shawn who lives in AK, as my 18 y.o. son just left this morning on a mission trip to Ambler, AK! Keep your eyes out for him, Shawn, ok? :) I know you'll probably run into him....

Anyway, I've been involved in fitness since my senior year in high school (ages ago) when I worked in a fitness center. Was going to school for physical therapy when I met my husband and changed plans. Later I went to workshops and got certified as an aerobics instructor and taught aerobics and step through both of my pregnancies. With 2 babies (15 months apart) I stopped teaching, but did things at home on my own. Now that they are older, I decided to work towards my CPT and with hopes to use it as a ministry with women. Currently I am teaching an aerobics class at my church as an outreach.

I am hoping to take the test in the last half of July, so I will be hibernating and studying until then. Just afraid to sign up.

Thanks for all of your posts, both here and at ACE...I can't tell you how helpful it is!

Hi Jan,

Welcome to the board and thanks for sharing your story!

I look forward to reading about your adventures with all of this and wish you the best of luck with the process!

This is a great place that Tekva has started for us to be able to share our experiences.

I hope your son has a safe trip to AK and also congrats on your 21st anniversary and also becoming a grandmother (though you look too young to be one! :)).

I've got a 15 year old son (well he'll be 15 this August) and an 11 year old daughter. My 18th anniversary is actually coming up this July so we're not too far behind you guys. :)

My wife, kids and I live in TN (not originally from here, from Long Island, New York, but we LOVE living here!). We actually vacationed two spring breaks ago in GA at Stone Mountain State Park, GREAT place!

Again welcome and Best,

Scott

Hello, Jan!  Welceome, welcome!  I loved reading your story!  I hope to use my certification in ministry, too.  I'm so jealous of those of you who started early and stuck with it!  It took me to the age of 52 to wake up and realize this is what I should have been doing all along!  WELCOME TO THE BOARD!

Hi Jan,
Nice to meet you. handshake.gif We're all on this same path, so it's wonderful to share ideas and concepts.  Best of luck to you and all of us on our careers! headbang.gif  Von

I am so excited about this board!  I feel like I have a bunch of new friends!  Plus it is easier to ask my "stupid" questions....not quite so intiimidating when I see we're all in the same boat!

Welcome aboard!!! I am sure your son will love Alaska, as a lot people who come up here end up moving here later on.

Why so nervous about the test??? Is there anything that we can do to help?
