What is Exercise, etc? I'm still bogged down just starting Chapter 3, so I'm closer to the front than the back of the manual. But I see others have made refernce to an Exercise, etc. CD. I bought the Premier Home Study pogram, which is supposed to be the most comprehensive set of study components. I didn't get an Exercise, etc. CD included with my material. Am I missing something? Is this something apart from the bundled material?? Is it a module in the Exercise Explorer software???
Exercise etc. is a company that sells stuff related to the ACE exam.
They have an exam practice disc that's only like 15 dollars and it's been a God send. I hadn't taken anything resembling a test in over 25 years so just getting used
to the process of taking a test has been really helpful. I would recommend getting the exam prep disc for sure.
Here's the link to it:

You might mess with the section on Exercise Science at this point but might want to wait on the other sections when you get much deeper into the book or you might drive yourself crazy (which is what I did. Then I put the disc away til I finished the manual :)).
There are 8 sections on the CD-ROM but you only need to know 4 of them. I wrote to the company to ask about this because I used to do all the sections and kept wondering why I didn't know so many of the answers. Here's the email I got back from Guy Andrews of Exercise Etc.: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Scott:
No need to even use the "Strength & Conditioning" section -- that is for a whole different certification. To prepare for the ACE Personal Trainer test study just these four sections:
Personal Training Exercise Science Professional/Legal Issues Assessment & Testing
The other sections are not written for the ACE exam.
Best wishes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ABSOLUTELY get Exercise, Etc., Barry! I am convinced I wouldn't have passed without it. It'll drive you NUTS at first...but then it becomes a game. I liked to take note of the answers I got wrong, and I would then dictate the question with the RIGHT answer into a tape recorder and listen to it on the way to work. It definitely made it easier!
