I've had so MANY interests!!

I'm a Jill of All Trades.  In 2006 I graduated with my diploma in Residential Planning (a division of Interior Design).  I love design, but I quickly discovered that people didn't want a designer...they wanted a furniture shopper!!!  So now I design for ME.  Sigh.  All that time and money, but hey...my house looks good!!!

I've also been a writer (both pro and amateur...ask about my Singin' in the Rain/Back to the Future crossover sometime...hey, it's really pretty good!!).  I also did theater and film reviews for local papers, did a short story for a Lucas Film publication, was a staff writer for a D.C. non-profit...but my real love was writing fan fiction -- even won a few awards for it!

In my dear, dim youth I was a fine artist.  Did a little scuba diving (badly), little theater (even worse).

Let's see, what else?  I owned the most glorious, obnoxius, wonderful, ornery Arabian show horse (owned him from a yearling to the age of 7), until he nearly put me into bankruptcy and I tearfully had to give him over to his trainer (you don't sell family!!  wink).

I love the Beatles, Mozart, Sinatra, and Glenn Miller (and most of those guys, with the exception of The Beatles are NOT in my age range...but my, they are good!).

And, of course...there is fitness, ACE, exercise...but that goes without saying!

So...that's me!

uhhmmm anything out doors....but I have to be fit to have fun outdoors...fishing, hunting, rafting, kayaking, boating, hiking, flying(small aircraft such as a single engine Cessna), camping, photography, viewing sunsets and sunrises from a ridge top, biking, x-country skiing, snowboarding, and I want to get certified to scuba before I go to Hawaii as I have a deep calling in me to be near the ocean.

I also used to build R/C cars and planes and I Love to grow anything!!

Wow Nora,
You certainly are an interesting and diverse person!
Some of my hobbies are yoga- all types, and {no snickering please readers} knitting (very soothing and creative).  nerd.gif
Of course, studying is all I've been doing lately.  I think all this material could easily be 2 years of full-time coursework - JMO!
Again, many thanks for getting this great site up and running.
You rock! biggrin

When do you rest?  Ah, no, wait, I know!  ACTIVE REST!!! biggrin  Or wait, is that Fartlek?  Out of the kayak, jog five minutes, swim across the lake, get on the bike (which you conveniently parked there), cyle around to the other side of the lake!

Seriously, it sounds like you've got a great life!!

Well, I won't mention the years I spent running around like Luke Skywalker at sci fi conventions!  Or did I just mention it?  Thankfully, that was when I was younger (er...38?)  biggrin.

Knitting is great!  I have a sister who crochets and it takes talent and skill.  Do you sew, too?

Yeah, I know what you mean about the studying!  I put my life on hold as I was studying for the exam!  I think every one here can relate!

You're welcome re the site.  I figured we needed a place where we could be a little less formal and really get to know one another, stay friends, discuss our careers as they unfold, etc!

lol yeah its not too bad now, but remember there was a time when I couldn't even walk for 6 months so I really enjoy what I can when I can.  I really learned to appreciate a lot of what I used to take for granted so I try to make the best out of any situation.

And yes alot of what I do is active rest...,meaning I don't really push myself when I am just enjoying being active again.  For instance the day after a leg day I will go for a hike or a bike ride just to force blood through those areas to help recover or after a chest/back day I will go kayaking.
