My impression of the exam

From what I understand, ACE has two exams -- one more difficult than the other.  You never know which one you're going to get.  But I really do think that if you have been studying hard, there's no way you can fail this exam.  Exercise, Etc. is particularly helpful since many of the questions are similar in style to the Exercise Etc. exam prep disk.  I know that I couldn't have passed the exam without it.

But I would most definitely recommend knowing the muscles and skeletal system -- not because there are a lot of questions related to them on the exam, but because to know the exercises, and to know how to design a program, you have to understand the muscles, what they do, and how they act on the joints and skeleton.

The bulk of the exam is program design -- and understanding how to progress a client through several weeks (what must change from week to week and month to month).

Was it a difficult exam?  I think that really depends upon how well you study.  If you know your stuff going in, you should be okay!

Just don't be as scared and  nervous as I was!  It DOES NOT HELP!!!  biggrin

Hello! I have only been studying for 7 weeks now and I am at chapter 10. I just ordered the exercise ect. and am hoping it will help

In regards to the muscles and how they work and what they do although this is like the most important aspect, I think, of personal training how did you learn all of the muscles, the movements, and also I never really payed too much attention to where the muscle attaches because I am so overwhelmed with all of the other information!!! is this a necessary component to the test? or would I be ok knowing what the muscles are, where they are, pointing them, and knowing how they move and what exercises help ?
